Meredith Evangelisti

Meredith Evangelisti is a force of nature. National Roller Dance Champion, World Precision Rollerskating team member, Elite In-line Speed Skater, Sports Nutritionist, veteran Hot 26 yoga teacher in Boston for over a decade, personal trainer, nutritional cook, etc... suffice it to say, Meredith is a life force.

Trained in advance hot yoga techniques for many years, Meredith has taught across the United States as well as throughout Europe, Canada, and Mexico.

Pursuing degrees in management, personal training, and sports nutrition, Meredith enjoyed five years as Lifetime Fitness’ exclusive lead, teaching the set sequence methodology Hot 26 while simultaneously creating her own signature version of vinyasa yoga and strength training (on our schedule, we call this Yoga Sculpt). Hot 26 is practiced all around the world – its set sequence of 26 asanas employ the same postures as a benchmark to witness progression (much the same way Ashtanga creates a predictable and powerful sequence allowing for the rhythm of body and breath to emerge). In fact Meredith counts Rich Ray from our Ashtanga school as one of her earliest and dearest teachers. The 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises are drawn from a larger set of 84 as taught by Bishnu Gosh. This sequence features no weight bearing on the arms and is performed in 100 degree heat, without the typical vinyasa flow in between each pose. This practice will always be Meredith's first love, healing her from a spinal injury sustained during a skating accident when she was dropped from an overhead lift by a partner. The addition of this modality brings yet another valuable thread of modern postural yoga to Down Under.

Unapologetically lighter and more jovial than her yoga classes, Meredith's Yoga Sculpt is her signature blend of vinyasa yoga and strength training. Yoga Sculpt is a high intensity, high energy, musically-driven avenue to develop tremendous cardio and strength capacities. Growing up, every day, Meredith’s Dad would say, “Why can’t you sit still?” Yoga Sculpt is her poetic answer to that question.

Full disclosure: Meredith is Justine and husband Jeff's personal trainer. Justine freely admits "I'm all things yoga, so I never cares two hoots about strong arms. I even refused to lift weights when I met Meredith. But then this incredible and unfamiliar feeling emerged like I was viscerally, palpably stronger internally and it changed how I experienced my body. It's the ultimate complement to yoga. It was like I finally got why as a woman it's a game-changer to feel strong." After many good-humored attempts to woo Meredith away from her exclusive contract with Lifetime and much preaching by Justine about the soulless, shareholder-driven corporate monoliths, Meredith finally said yes. And so began these vibrant additions to our Movement and Flow schools.
