I was introduced to yoga in an old mill building studio downtown Nashua, NH in 2015. The room was hot hot hot, surrounded by mirrors and accompanied by extremely bendy bodies. I was not a bendy body and, quite frankly, I was nervous as hell. Over the course of the years every time I returned to my mat I found myself emerging from savasana someone different, something fresh, something new. Since then I look back to see a world that has changed not only physically but in my mind and my spirit. I can feel deeper than ever through the awareness that is cultivated on my Yoga mat. Yoga, no doubt, became my medicine. This practice is my medicine. I was trained as a teacher, both my 200 hour and 300 hour, here at Down Under School of Yoga. Teachers such as Gregor Singleton, Natasha Rizopoulos, Kate Heffernan, Claire Este McDonald, Justine Cohen and so many others have invested in my professionalism and contributed to the purpose I’ve found as a teacher. Humbled to work amongst such great warriors in the yoga world, I find my voice in the heated room. In my classes we not only turn up the temperature but also the music that compliments the weekly asana sequence curated by dialogue, depth, and determination. In my classes, posture is addressed in detail, breath is a requirement and I encourage all the mindful movers in the room to approach their practice with utmost authenticity. Meet you on the mat.
